Calgary-based Colouring It Forward Reconciliation Society is pleased to present the annual Pokaiks (pookehks) – The Children: Orange Shirt Day Walk.
Come and walk with us to commemorate survivors of Residential Schools and the Sixties Scoop and to remember the children we lost. We will also hear from elders, survivors, and activists working to make positive change, we will offer honour songs and traditional dancing and food too! We invite you to come and participate in our dancing, and interactive art booths, visit our artisans and bring your children, and your friends to take reconciliation together to help us make the future better for us all.
This year 2022 we are partnering with the City of Calgary for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation at Fort Calgary.
Pokaiks: the Children Orange Shirt Day runs from 9 am-2 pm, with a walk across Reconciliation Bridge and aerial salute.
